Mission Statement: The mission of IMPACT Ministries is to influence those who live, work and vacation in Myrtle Beach and along the Grand Strand with the life-changing love and grace of Jesus Christ.
Vision Statement: Creatively sharing Christ with people, ministering to their needs, assisting to plant them in a church body, and growing the Church through providing intentional mission involvement.
What are our Goals?
Evangelism: Our evangelism must be personal, intentional, and constant. The Gospel must be told with both urgency and sensitivity.
Ministry: Our ministry should meet people where they are, care for their needs and share the hope of the Lord.
Growth: Our activities should assist in the growth of the Church body. Our desire is to see those whom we introduce to Christ through evangelism and ministry, become disciples who are actively involved in a local fellowship of believers.
Who Is Our Target Audience? The 18 million tourists who visit our city every year and the un-churched who live in Horry County.
Ministry along the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach began more than 60 years ago, with its original roots being campground ministry. Over these many years, it has been under the names of Grand Strand Ministries, Intracoastal Outreach, and now IMPACT Ministries. Little has changed in the vision of this ministry--to reach the lost tourist and workers--but the creative ministries in which we reach them have evolved. Over the years, each missionary has worked diligently developing many new ministry tools and teaching local churches how to get into the communities that had been entrusted to them and share their faith creatively.
In 2009, the Resort Ministry ministry position came to a close with its former partnerships of the North American Mission Board, South Carolina Baptist Convention, and Waccamaw Baptist Association. In 2010, God confirmed to Todd that he was to recreate the ministry he had been called to 8 years earlier. IMPACT Ministries was created in March of 2010 and a board of local pastors and lay leaders were put in place to oversee this ministry. From January 2010, God has grown this ministry by leaps and bounds beyond our greatest prayers. God began to work in the hearts of new staff members drawing them from their current ministry positions and to Myrtle Beach to serve with IMPACT Ministries. This calling did not come without great sacrifice. Each of these new staff have had to resign their church positions, sell their homes, and move to Myrtle Beach. Yet the greatest task still lies ahead, they each have to raise their own financial support to serve here as missionaries. This is no easy task and calls for a total dependence on Christ’s provision for our every financial need. Yet, God always provides our every need to that which He calls us to. You can be a part of our calling by donating to one or more of our staff. We can’t be here serving without you.
Todd felt called to ministry in 7th grade and surrendered his life to go where ever God led him. In 1987, while serving as a mission team volunteer in Ocean City, Maryland, God confirmed to him that one day it would be resort ministry. Some 15 years later, he would begin serving in Myrtle Beach.
International Student Ministries & All Nations Cafe' (J1 Students)
Christy has felt called to serve oversees as a missionary from a very young age. The passion to serve was there, but God had not opend this door for her until 2014 when we began the All Nations Cafe'. Who knew that God would bring the International Mission field to her.
Peter is originally from Charleston, South Carolina, and a very proud alum of Charleston Southern University (GO BUCS). He has been in Christian ministry since 2000. During summer experiences as a student missionary, in both college and seminary, Peter began his work full-time with resort ministry in 2007.
Mission Team Coordinator
Michelle joined the staff of IMPACT in 2017. As mission teams sign up to work with us, she will handle all logistics, hotel arrangements, ministry site assignments, billing, and correspondence with the teams. Michelle is super organized and it is great to have her on our team.
Myrtle Beach Travel Park
Rick has had a passion to share Christ with others since becoming a follower himself as a child. Rick and Marie joined IMPACT Ministries in 2015 to serve as our chaplain at Myrtle Beach Travel Park Campground. They offer weekly Bible studies, worship service, and family minstry to our residents and camping families.
Austine grew up in a great home with very loving parents. They taught her about how to become a follower of Christ and the importance of commiting her life to Him. Austine came on staff with IMPACT Ministries in 2012 to serve as our accountant and book keeper. Austine always serves with a smile and we are so blessed to have her on our team.
Joining the IMPACT Staff in 2017, Angie and Mike, along with their children Logan, Brayden and Allison moved to the Grand Strand from Indiana to serve with IMPACT Ministries and follow the path that God was directing their family down. Leading mission teams and showing others the tangible love of Christ by sharing the gospel and acts of kindness is the fuel that continues to ignite the passion of serving others for their family.
